Goals 2011

Things I WILL achieve this year:

1Finish current edit of SUNDOWN and order a proof copy.
2. Finish latest edit of SUNDOWN
3. Complete NEXT round of revisions (using ElitistCritiques crits)
4. Print out SUNDOWN & do a paper edit
5. Transfer paper edits to Scrivener file!!
6. Look for beta-reader(s) for SUNDOWN
7Win NaNoEdMo 2011, editing pretty well any of my novels for 50+ hours
8. Write 52 short stories, one per week, for the Chrysalis Experiment
Weeks 1-52: CHECK!
9. Write at least once a week in W O R D + S T U F F blog
10. Win NaNoWriMo 2011


  • my sub-aim is to write 50k in the first 15 days, and then another 50k in the second 15 days (working on two different novels)

11. Finish off first draft of STORM (SUNDOWN series) - omg, as of Jan 15th I have actually done some work on this :D
12. Complete a preliminary read-through/edit of NAUSICAA (NaNo '10 novel) - as of December 30, this is complete!!
13. Read more than 21 (new goal is 35!) books in 2011! (current count: 37)
14. Participate in & win BuNoWriMo 2011.
15. Participate in A'vron Ayende's Book Club : Classics project, reading 1 classic novel per month for the rest of 2011 (began in Feb). Update Oct '11: This is kind of over, so I'm crossing it off as 'complete'!

  • Months 1-4: CHECK! (we are on a 1 month hiatus for May!)

Things I'd like to look at but probably will not get done in 2011

1. Preliminary edits of EXCISION and FIRE
2. Figure out how to finish off CARNIVAL from that same series
3. Finish off 2008's NaNo novel (TURKEY BOURKE)
4. Get through 1st proper edit of SQUEAKY


Things I will only get done in 2011 if time slows to a crawl for realz and I can pack a decade into this year

1. Finish off RAGEWATER book 1
2. Finish off SOMANA from the RAGEWATER series (probably has 40k to go)
